I found all the other forms of calcium carbide gave a very 'gritty' feel under my painting knife much like marble dust.Dennishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16815519656172280658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200138797648475238.post-18414512932205553392016-05-06T11:19:35.463-06:002016-05-06T11:19:35.463-06:00Where do you buy Silica Gel Medium?Where do you buy Silica Gel Medium?Brad Tearehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04311014022243382658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200138797648475238.post-29066453037917915522016-01-06T13:03:07.437-07:002016-01-06T13:03:07.437-07:00I will definitely give it t try. Some putty recipes do include marble dust. In addition to being more opaque it probably will have an absorbant quality (similar to gesso). Let me know how it works for you.Brad Tearehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04311014022243382658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200138797648475238.post-75821389215190093432010-10-30T11:01:52.338-06:002010-10-30T11:01:52.338-06:00I have been curious about this, I've got to tr...I have been curious about this, I've got to try this stuff out. Reportedly it is part of what gave Rembrandt his thick, visceral textures.Brad Tearehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04311014022243382658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200138797648475238.post-84257681079207553292010-10-29T11:20:27.205-06:002010-10-29T11:20:27.205-06:00I've never even heard of this putty business! ...I've never even heard of this putty business!
